Billy the Kids Kid: The Hispanic Connection

Elbert ( Bert) Garcia from Santa Rosa New Mexico in 2001 documents, printed and published a new released manuscript during the life of Billy the Kid aka Patrick Henry McCarty aka Billy Bonney. Bert documents thatBilly the Kid and Abrana Garcia are the biological parents of his grandfather Patrocinio (Pat) Garcia Born 1875 inArenoso (Sunnyside) New Mexico. Bert reveals "that it was always a hush hush topic within the Garcia family we all knew about it that Grandpa Pat was Billy the Kids son". Bert s family discussions included those that ran with Billy such as his Grandfather Higinio Salazar Garcia, Uncle's Paco Anaya, Pedro Sedillo and Jose Chavez y Chavez. Billy the Kid was well known in Santa Rosa because he was always here he lived in Santa Rosa up here on the hill where the Garcia's have lived even before the the town was started. Before the Lincoln County War Billy was always in the surrounding communities along the Pecos River such as Anton Chico, Puerto de Luna, Delia and Racing horses in Pintada. It has been documented in several small family memoirs manuscripts by the people that witnessed and even today it is common discussion that Billy was in Santa Rosa. 140 years ago when Billy Bonney (140BB) was shot he already had 4 boys and 1 girl and possibly more kids but 5 yes. Three young (3) boys were brought to Santa Rosa after July 14th, 1881 where they were raised all had families the names: Garcia, Bonney, Gutierrez and Sena was raised outside of Ft Sumner. Elbert has documented in his manuscript the spanish communities, families and individuals that lived with and supported Billy before, during and after the life of Billy the Kid.
